How To Prepare Your Business Goals For The Year
It’s the start of a brand new year! A fresh start for those that need it. Hopefully you have had a lovely Christmas holiday and are coming back feeling refreshed and ready to achieve big things for your business this year. I do believe that by having a break over the festive season, you can refresh yourself so that you come back to work with a renewed and enthusiastic outlook for your business. So how can you prepare your business goals for this year?
Invest in the right tools
In order to organise your business goals, you need to ensure that you have the right equipment. A diary is a basic requirement, but have you thought about looking into a business planner? These are a great way of organizing your business plans and social media content for the whole year at a quick glance. I would recommend this one- This Girl Means Business. It is laid out so effectively so that you can tackle the many business marketing goals that you can set yourself each month.
A step up from this would be to invest in a wall planner to pin onto your work space wall. This way you can glance at the year ahead and it will become far easier to sort out your goals.
Highlighters are also handy stationary to use to organise your goals and plans into categories.
Split your goals into categories
Have a think about the different goals you will need to face with your business. This could be business growth, social media goals, content goals or networking goals. Try to get a book with tabs so that you can write down your goals into separate sections and can focus on each goal category one at a time.
By splitting these up into categories, you are able to concentrate fully and really think about what needs doing with each aspect of the business.
For example, when you are focusing on your social media goals- you can think about what it is you want to either learn, or achieve with this through the year. Perhaps you want to push and use Linked In more, or perhaps you want to grow your followers on Instagram. This should be focused on separately from business growth goals, such as outsourcing work.
Break your goals into bite sized chunks
If you set yourself business goals, initially they may seem daunting and overwhelming. However, the key is to break these into chunks that are more manageable. Set realistic goals and realistic deadlines. Then break these up into smaller steps.
If you want to grow your social media game, focus one month on increasing your posts, the next month on doing an advert and the following month on something else. Write all of these down in your planners and make sure you set time aside to work on these goals each week.
Have check in points every so often too, so that you can hold yourself accountable for your business goals.
Check in on your progress and then you can readjust your business strategy according to how the goals are going.
